First and foremost, we are business people. Our backgrounds are in sales, manufacturing, and project management, and we evolved into Claris FileMaker developers because we needed better systems ourselves. As our careers progressed, we built tools to solve real problems, improve productivity, and raise quality across the organisations we worked in.
We founded Craft ICT Limited in 2002 and have continued applying this practical, business-led approach ever since. Many of our customers have been with us for more than ten years, and several for over twenty, which reflects the long-term partnerships we build and the continuity we provide as their businesses grow and change.
Since 2011, alongside traditional on-site deployments, we have delivered FileMaker solutions through our own hosted cloud infrastructure. This is not simple cloud hosting. It is a fully managed service, from server to desktop, designed to deliver LAN-like performance while removing FileMaker server and client support requirements from our customers. Our cloud solutions are used internationally, including in the UK, Europe, the USA, India, Dubai, and Myanmar.
We are based in the heart of Thetford Forest, Britain’s largest lowland pine forest. It is a location that suits us well, offering a calm, focused environment for designing robust and elegant database systems. At the same time, we are well connected to the main business centres of East Anglia, including Ipswich, Norwich, Cambridge, and Peterborough, with straightforward access to London and the Midlands.
And why FileMaker? We believe it remains one of the most cost-effective and reliable rapid development platforms available. It allows us to build systems that run simultaneously on Windows, macOS, iPhone, and iPad, and, when delivered through our virtual cloud servers, extends access to Android, Linux, and Chromebook users. This approach overcomes many of the performance and compatibility challenges typically associated with moving from on-premises systems to the cloud, while widening access to platforms not supported by standard deployments.
